When tech billionaire Slater King meets waitress Frida at his fundraising gala, he invites her and his friends on a dream vacation on his private island. When strange things begin to happen, Frida questions her reality. We caught up with director Zoë Kravitz and her ensemble on the Blink Twice red carpet. Zoë Kravitz began writing Blink Twice under the original title Pussy Island in 2017. Kravitz intended to keep this title for the film, but negative reception from the MPAA, women and theaters prompted her to change it. I was looking forward to Blink Twice; after the trailer caught my eye. Unfortunately, the film did not live up to the hype. It started off pretty slow, spending too much time in party scenes that didn’t go anywhere or help anything. When things finally started to happen, everything was rushed and the ending was a disappointment. The movie seemed to have some really interesting parts, but just couldn’t put them together in a way that was satisfying. Overall, Blink Twice; she has a great idea but doesn’t quite follow through. It might be worth watching if you’re curious, but it might not live up to your expectations.
